Edd was a great singer and musician. I played with him for years. I remember his sense of humor most of all. He was a people watcher and a master at spotting phonies. Between songs, he would lean over to me and say something like, "Look at that hat. She got that one at a yard sale," or something even funnier that will remain between me and Big Edd. He kept me laughing as long as I knew him. When he could no longer speak, he wrote notes. I would read the first word or two over his shoulder and say what he was thinking. Finally one day he wrote in capital letters - "Shut up! Quit second-guessing me." I had to laugh in spite of his pain.
